Around Our Office

Knowland’s Salisbury location has been the epicenter of much of the company’s rapid growth. When we first moved into the office in August of 2007, Knowland had only a handful of employees. That number has since grown exponentially and we are currently transitioning to a space nearby that is more than five times as large.

The Salisbury office is home to many of our departments, including sales, client care, field research management, and the Event Booking Center. We have taken advantage of the natural hospitality of the people in Salisbury to create this world class hospitality call center. The EBC is staffed by highly trained cold callers, appointment setters, and outsourced sales professionals.

Why We Love Our Town

Salisbury is centrally located on the lower Eastern Shore, just a half hour west of Ocean City, and easily accessed by U.S. Routes 13 and 50. The active community is a great place to live and work, boasting a strong industry sector, respected educational institutions, and an amazing climate. Salisbury recently received a 2010 All-America City Award from the National Civic League. Besides the Knowland Group, the city is home to many nationally recognized businesses and organizations, including Perdue Farms, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, and Salisbury University.

A Brief Town History

Salisbury’s location at the head of the Wicomico River was a major factor in making the city what it is today. After a rather slow start as one of Lord Baltimore’s colonial outposts, Salisbury became an official port in 1732. Wicomico was the only navigable waterway leading out to the Chesapeake Bay for early settlers and Salisbury gradually became a gateway for colonists. Today Salisbury is the seat of Wicomico County and the largest city in the Eastern Shore region.
