At times we do hire outside professionals who are already experts in their field. But we prefer to cultivate the skills and experience of existing employees so that they may one day fill leadership roles at Knowland. These individuals are true Knowland people who understand and believe in the work we are doing and want to better themselves and, by extension, the company.

The Knowland Employee Development Pipeline is designed to give every new hire the opportunity to grow their potential and advance their careers. At the same time, it gives Knowland an organized system by which to build, train, and promote an ever increasing group of experienced professionals. It starts with a carefully developed program of ongoing training and development. Also crucial to the pipeline is complete transparency of the opportunities that are available at all levels, as well as the encouragement of self-motivated career advancement.

Continual growth through ongoing training and support

At Knowland, we never just throw new hires to work and expect results. We want them to be successful in both the short and long term, which means starting with a strong foundation and following through with ongoing training. New employees from every department, from sales to accounting to the Event Booking Center, start out at the Knowland new hire boot camp. They spend one week learning all about Knowland, our products, our customers, and the hospitality industry as a whole. Customer Relationship ManagementThis solid grounding in the basics makes it easier for each person to quickly become a valuable member of the Knowland team. Boot camp is an excellent opportunity to expose new hires to the great company culture at Knowland and help them become a part of the community.

After boot camp, new employees enter a pipeline based on their new position and start job-specific training programs. While the content varies from department to department, the primary mission remains the same: to give employees all the training and support they need to be successful and fulfill their highest potential. This includes traditional training sessions. But it also means things like the Knowland University library to help employees research more about their field of interest and tuition reimbursement to help them pursue a degree in that field. It’s all about continued growth.

The Knowland Employee Development Pipeline is designed to show people the way to career advancement. Self-motivation is crucial.
